Coach Jim Muldowney

Coach Jim Muldowney is the all-time winningest baseball coach in Middlesex County, N.J. history, with 24 championships in 13 years - 10 Conference titles, 7 County Championships, 5 New Jersey State Sectional titles, and 2 New Jersey State Championships.

Some of Coach Muldowney's other accomplishments:

  • Overall record of 275-75 at Edison High School (N.J.) and 141-81 at Middlesex County Junior College (N.J.)
  • Inducted into the New Jersey Coaches, the New Jersey Baseball Coaches, the Edison High School and the North Brunswick Little League Halls of Fame.
  • His team was ranked #1 in New Jersey and #4 in the United States in 1993.
  • They also finished ranked #2 in New Jersey on two other occasions and #4 once, as well as receiving national recognition by U.S.A. Today for three consecutive seasons.
  • He has the distinction of being named the New Jersey Junior College Coach of the Year and the New Jersey High School Coach of the Year, as well as receiving 7 other Coach of the Year Awards.
  • His team was ranked #1 in Central New Jersey for 9 seasons, and he won 20 or more games for 11 consecutive years.
  • His teams have defeated opponents from 9 different states - California, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware at various National Tournaments.
  • He coached 20 All-State and 34 All-County players.
  • 10 of his players went on to play professional baseball, including pitcher Dave Meads of the Houston Astros (pitched 2 years at the Major League level as a reliever) and pitcher Bob Brownlie (the Chicago Cubs 1st round draft choice).
  • He was voted among the Top 5 coaches in New Jersey in the last 25 years.
  • He coached the N.J. All-Stars to a win over the N.Y. All-Stars at Yankee Stadium
  • Currently a District Supervisor of Health and Physical Education who has managed several A.A.U. teams (ages 11-16) to Tournament Championships over a period of 8 years.
